Author Eileen Flanagan talkes about her book, "The Wisdom to Know the Difference: When to Make a Change and When to Let Go". It explore how to apply the message of the Serenity Prayer, accepting the things we cannot change and changing those we can. The facinating people she interviews include a Katrina evacuee, a Catholic priest who works to rejuvenate a dsolate urban neighborhood and a cattle rancher who went from bankruptcy to winning Paul Newman's "mos generous business" award.
Published by Tarcher/Penguin, the book has been praised byt the Dalai Lama and other notable writers. Ms. Flanagan will also lead a retreat at Stella Maris the weekend of March 12-14th.

Richard Russo, is a fellow Upstate New Yorker. He received his BA in English at the University of Arizona along with his Ph.D. in American Lit in 1980. He also earned a master of fine arts degree in creative writing in 1981. In addition to being a novelist he was a former fiction instructor and professor of creative writing. He writes about blue collar life and “Main Street USA.” He is the author of Empire Falls, Straight Man, and Nobody’s Fool.
